Event: 4th-5th Grade Musical
Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.
What: We are happy to announce that Lafayette Elementary is partnering again with Town Hall Education to bring our students a rewarding theater-education experience. This year’s production will be Annie JR
This year we will be offering 3 casts with rehearsals on Tuesday (Cast 1), Wednesday (Cast 2), and Thursday (Cast 3). We will be also be offering the option of stage crew if your child prefers something more behind the scenes.
Rehearsals and performances take place in the Multi-Purpose Room at LES, immediately after school.
Tuesday Cast (Cast 1):
- Classes: Tuesdays, 2:42-5:30pm January 25th-May 3rd (No class April 5)
- Tech: May 10th 2:42-6pm and May 13th 2:42-6pm
- Performances: May 17th (school assembly and evening, pending public health guidelines)
Wednesday Cast (Cast 2):
- Classes: Wednesdays, 1:42-4:30pm January 26th-May 4th (No class April 6th)
- Tech: May 11th, 1:42-5pm and May 15th 2pm-5pm
- Performances: May 18th (school assembly and evening, pending public health guidelines)
Thursday Cast (Cast 3)
- Classes: Thursdays, 2:42-5:30pm January 27th-May 5th (No class April 7th)
- Tech: May 12th, 2:42-6pm and May 16th 2:42-6pm
- Performances: May 19th (school assembly and evening, pending public health guidelines)
Stage crew: For those interested in stage crew, rehearsal attendance is only required starting in mid April (date tbc).
Auditions will occur during the second week of rehearsal, with each student receiving news of their role through individual email communication from the director. Stage crew participants are only required to attend rehearsals starting in April (date tbc).

Parent participation not required. However, there will be opportunities for parents to volunteer closer to the performance dates. More information soon!
When will auditions be?
At the first rehearsal, students will be given a snippet of a song which everyone will practice together. The auditions will happen at the 2nd rehearsal.
Can I choose a cast?
Yes. Please choose the day that is best suited for your child’s schedule. Please check availability for tech rehearsals and performance as well, as consistent attendance is vital for a successful production.
What if my preferred cast day is full?
If you have flexibility with your schedule, choose another day or put your name on the waitlist for your preferred day in case space opens up later.
Can I request a friend’s cast?
No, registration is strictly first come first served.
Does it cost to participate in the play? Do I pay right now?
The fee to participate is $225 per cast member and $50 for stage crew. Payment will be requested and procesed after registration,via email. Scholarships available upon request.
What is the maximum amount of students for cast?
Each cast is made up of a maximum of 25 cast members and 5 stage crew students. This is to ensure that the students are having a rewarding educational experience.
