Event: 4th-5th Grade Play
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."
We are happy to announce that Lafayette Elementary is partnering again with Town Hall Education, under the direction of Madison Gerringer, to bring our students a rewarding theater-education experience. This year’s production will be Mary Poppins JR. This year we will be offering 3 casts with rehearsals on Tuesday (Cast 1), Wednesday (Cast 2), and Thursday (Cast 3). We will be also be offering the option of stage crew if your child prefers something more behind the scenes.
Auditions will occur during the second week of rehearsal, with each student receiving news of their role through individual email communication from the director.

When will auditions be?
At the first rehearsal, students will be given a snippet of a song which everyone will practice together. The auditions will happen at the 2nd rehearsal.
Can I choose a cast?
Yes. Please choose the day that is best suited for your child’s schedule. Please check availability for technical rehearsals and the performance as well, as consistent attendance is vital for a successful production.
What if my preferred cast day is full?
If you have flexibility with your schedule, choose another day or put your name on the wait list for your preferred day in case space opens up later.
Can I request a friend’s cast?
No, registration is strictly first come first served.
Does it cost to participate in the play? Do I pay right now?
We are suggesting a $90 contribution per student this year. If your child is participating in stage crew, the suggested contribution is $25. After securing a place in a cast, you will receive further instructions via email to complete payment etc. Your child’s spot in a cast is secured by completing this first part of registration.
What is the maximum amount of students each cast enrolls?
Each cast is made up of a maximum of 30 cast members and 5 stage crew students. This is to ensure that the students are having a rewarding educational experience.
