What a wonderful first week of school we've had, full of bright classrooms and fresh routines, friendly faces both familiar and new, and welcoming events brimming with joy and school spirit. Leopards, we’re off to a great start! Please take a quick look at NEED TO KNOW for this week's most important info.
There are still plenty of volunteer opportunities available. If you are new to LES volunteering, don't be shy; the more the merrier! Among other opportunities, immediate needs are Green Team Chair, No Place For Hate Chair, LPIE Gala Chair, and help with planning casual, grade-level socials.
Did you know? The PTA website is also an app! Find it in your App Store under "Membership Toolkit."
When: Thursday, August 31st, 6:15 - 7:45 PM in our school library
We are honored to have Superintendent Dr. Brent Stephens & LPIE as our featured speakers to help us kick off the year. Discussion includes district budgeting and LES-specific topics. Light refreshments will be served. We will also approve the PTA calendar of events and annual budget.
The 2023 Lafayette ResRun for Education will be held Sunday, October 22nd. A percentage of all registrations go back to the schools, and last year LES received over $5,000.
On top of the money from registrations, schools also have a chance to win contests to earn an extra $500, and the first contest is “Most registrations by September 30th”. Can we sign-up as many students, families, neighbors, relatives, etc., of LES by September 30th and give Burton Valley a run for the money (pun intended)?
And if that isn’t motivation: the first 100 students who enroll per school receive a gift certificate for free ¼ pound of Zoonies candy.
No experience required; participants can run or walk laps and everyone receives a small participation award. Let's build healthy habits together! Advance registration preferred.
