LPIE Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday & the Start of the Holiday Spirit

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! We truly hope everyone had restorative and much-deserved time off.

As a cap to this past month's theme of gratitude, today is Giving Tuesday across the country! Here in Lafayette, our generous LPIE Board will be matching all donations up to $194,000. Every dollar counts double, so now is the time to make a difference. Click here to join your friends and neighbors who have already donated. Thank you for continuing the legacy of giving in Lafayette to support our children's education.

As we start to contend with the holiday bustle, our PTA calendar is also full - but manageable and meaningful! This week starts play rehearsals as well as our grade-level socials. Don’t be shy! Come down to Headlands on your designated evening(s) – details can be found below.

This time of year, we are also on the lookout for volunteers for next year’s PTA. There are open positions on the nominating committee, the executive board, as well as for event chairs and committees. See details below. Volunteering with our PTA is a wonderful way to feel more connected to LES, grow friendships, and help our events and programs thrive year to year. Mildly curious? Definitely interested? Please reach out – the more the merrier! You can email us or parliamentarian Briannon McCurdy for more information.

With gratitude always,

Andi & Ria

Holiday Toy Drive Starts This Week

The Merakey Foundation's Annual Holiday Toy Drive is Here!

LES is collecting toys this holiday season for Oakluv Foundation. Started in 2009 by current LES dad, Alex Cox, the organization takes no administration fees, so all donations go directly into the community. LES is proud to highlight this amazing local organization while helping spread holiday joy to deserving kiddos in the East Bay!

Feel the spirit of giving and bring an unwrapped toy to school to donate now through December 15th. Collection bins will be in front of the office to drop toys in during school hours.

Can you help our LES LPIE reps with two asks?
Can you help our LES LPIE reps with two asks?
1. We are looking for a host for a pay-to-play event.  Lisa Anderson from Light Up Fitness has graciously donated a class for each of our Lafayette Schools! We just need someone to “host” each pay to play. The host can decide what they want to do (decorations, snacks, etc) but we need someone to help plan and execute this. It's a 60min mixed exercise class (cardio, strength, yoga, etc). Dates tbd according to Lisa and the hosts schedule.
2. We are looking to nominate one person from each school to sit on our Nominations Committee for next year's board.  Are you social and can help reach out to your social network and community to recruit for the LPIE Board? You don't have to be super-involved in the PTA, but if you have chaired an event and would be willing, we'd love if you'd consider serving on the LPIE nominating committee from Jan-March 2024.
Please reach out to Yuki Jenkins for more information.  THANK YOU!

Sienna Ranch in the winter is a unique experience to explore nature in the colder months. Our after school classes get to play flashlight games, see owls and other nighttime creatures, make warm fires, and visit our animals to see their winter coats. It is a much quieter calmer time of year on the Ranch and kids love this change. Check out our offerings at this link and come join for a session.
