SUBJECT: Leopard Spots Dec. 12: Winter Fun!

Tuesday - Dec. 12, 2023
Winter Fun!

Thank you to all the parents who came out last week for our 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade Socials, and a huge thank you to Tamara Sosine for organizing them all! She makes sure to always add the fun and smiles throughout the school year, and for that we are grateful!

Thank you also to the families that attended our DEIB Workshop: Becoming an Ally, presented by the UMBRELLA Committee. It was a success thanks to them, as well as to the LES and Happy Valley DEIB Committees.

We are all excited to see our 1st – 4th Graders perform at our beloved Winter Sing, tomorrow from 8:45 – 9:45am. We can’t wait to see you all at the concert! We know how busy everyone is, but we hope everyone can stick around for the entirety of the performance to support all of our grades and all of our amazing students who have worked so hard this semester learning their pieces. Thank you in advance!

This is our final week for our OakLuv Toy Drive for families in need, and bins are placed in front of the office each day. Thank you to those who have already donated!

Have a wonderful week, Leopards!

Claim Your Lost Items Before Winter Break!

The Lost & Found is again overflowing with layers and outwear - please take a moment to look through it as you may be surprised to see a familiar item or two!

The Lost & Found racks are located in the entryway to the multipurpose room at the top of the steps near the flag pole and will be rolled out for families to check before and after Winter Sing this Wednesday morning.  Families may also check the Lost & Found daily at school drop-off and dismissal, and students may check it during lunch and recess times.

Holiday Toy Drive - Final Week!

The Merakey Foundation's Annual Holiday Toy Drive is Here!

LES is collecting toys this holiday season for Oakluv Foundation. Started in 2009 by current LES dad, Alex Cox, the organization takes no administration fees, so all donations go directly into the community. LES is proud to highlight this amazing local organization while helping spread holiday joy to deserving kiddos in the East Bay!

Feel the spirit of giving and bring an unwrapped toy to school to donate now through December 15th. Collection bins will be in front of the office to drop toys in during school hours.

To learn more about Oakluv, check out their website: https://www.oakluv.com.
