5th Grade End of Year Activities

Dates throughout May 2025

Fifth grade parents:  We know the end of year gets busy, but having a 5th grader means it will be even busier!  More information (especially the exact date of these events) will be shared by your students teacher and through the PTA Newsletter, but here's a sneak peek at a few events:

  • 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Concert:  Whether your student will continue with their instrument or chorus into middle school, or this is the end of their musical adventure, please join other 5th grade parents to listen and celebrate the musical progress they all made this year!
  • 5th grade Rocket Launch: Our amazing Science Teacher, Mr. Winter will be holding the annual bottle rocket launch on our playground. Families are welcome to come watch and cheer on our scientists and engineers; it's always a sight to see!  This is primarily an at-home, student-based project, although Mr. Winter encourages the students to bring in their rockets to the science lab and brainstorm with him and classmates and use the scientific process to help improve their designs. I will also let student groups work during afternoon academy time if they have their materials since after-school scheduling can be difficult.
  • 5th Grade Farewell and Honorary Service Awards:  Families are invited to join us as we bid farewell to this group of fifth graders and their families. Each class will be honored and the annual slideshow will be shown.   After the assembly, 5th graders and families can mingle on the blacktop, and 5th graders will receive their yearbooks.
