WHAT IS THE WALK-A-THON?
Walk-a-thon is the #1 fundraiser for the Lafayette Elementary School PTA!
100% of funds raised directly support our school, teachers, and students. Our goal is to raise $38,275 this year to support Field Trips, Teacher Appreciation Week, Westival, Run Club, The Play, end-of-year Field Days, and community favorites like Leopard Day. Any funds raised beyond our goal will be donated to LPIE, which supports our school with classroom supplies, technology, and our beloved Counselor, Librarian, Science, Music and Art teachers. Will you help us make this Walk-a-thon even more successful?!
WHO PARTICIPATES AND WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE WALK-A-THON?
On Friday, October 16th, all LES students from every grade are invited to walk or run laps around the LES blacktop during a designated time slot during the school day. Parent volunteers keep track of laps completed and ensure students are hydrated and having fun! Students should bring/wear sneakers, activewear, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE WALK-A-THON FUNDRAISER?
Raise $$! Please register your student on the fundraising site: http://lafayette.pledgestar.com/
Also, parent volunteers will be needed to work shifts on 10/16 which could include set-up, lap counting, class shepherding, Frozen Friday, and clean-up. Sign-up for volunteers will be advertised in the PTA newsletter prior to the Walk-a-thon.
ARE THERE PRIZES?
Yes, of course! There will be many awesome prizes! There will be drawings for gift cards, prizes for most laps, participation, and class-wide prizes.

PLEDGESTAR INSTRUCTIONS:
Using your computer's browser:
- Go to http://lafayette.pledgestar.com/
- Click "Not Registered For This Year's Event"
- Enter your name and email address, then click "Submit"
- Follow the instructions on-screen to register Jogger(s) and add family and friends
When you finish, the system emails pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online.
